This patient came in with a cavity that needed immediate attention before an upcoming trip. During a Caries Control procedure, we carefully remove decay and evaluate how much healthy tooth structure remains to determine the best long-term solution.
In this case, the tooth was stable enough to restore with a tooth-colored filling to relieve discomfort and protect the tooth for now. While a dental crown may be recommended in the future for added strength and longevity, this filling provided the patient with a safe, functional solution before traveling.
