This patient visited our Washington, DC dental office with cavities affecting two teeth. Left untreated, dental decay can continue to spread, leading to larger cavities, tooth pain, infection, and the potential need for more extensive treatments such as root canals or dental crowns. To restore the teeth and stop the progression of decay, we performed tooth-colored composite fillings.
The before image shows the teeth after the cavities were identified and the decayed tooth structure was removed. Once the affected areas were thoroughly cleaned and prepared, we placed durable composite resin fillings that were carefully matched to the patient's natural tooth color. The final result restores the strength, function, and appearance of both teeth while blending seamlessly with the surrounding smile.
Composite fillings are a conservative and effective treatment for repairing cavities while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible. By treating decay early, patients can maintain healthier teeth and avoid more complex dental procedures in the future.
